The General Administration for Factory Control carried out 21 oversight missions in cooperation with the Industrial Development Authority. The number of examination, inspection and accreditation visits carried out by the Department for Control of Packing Stations and Centers reached 40, and the Department issued 444 export permits for agricultural crops to 377 exporting companies.

The number of food consignments exported, according to the report of the Authority’s General Administration Information Center for both Exports and Imports, amounted to 4,025 consignments, amounting to approximately 170,000 tons, to 1,477 exporting companies, which varied between 605 types of flour, vegetables, and various food products.

Sweet potatoes topped the list of exported Egyptian vegetables with a total of 12 thousand tons, followed by beans of all kinds with a total of 8 thousand tons, then onions with a total of 5 thousand tons. The total number of types of exported vegetables reached 52 types with about 36 thousand tons, and pomegranates topped the list of fruits exported during the past week with a total of 11. One thousand tons, followed by mango with 6 thousand tons, then strawberries with a total of 5 thousand tons, and the total number of types of fruits exported reached 40 types, amounting to about 30 thousand tons.

Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Yemen represented the largest countries receiving Egyptian exports during the past week out of a total of 173 importing countries.
Alexandria Port ranked first in the number of food consignments exported from it with a total of 785 consignments, followed by Safaga Port with 560 consignments, then Cairo Airport Port with a total of 433 consignments.

The number of food consignments received reached 1,915 consignments, amounting to about 424 thousand tons, to 625 importing companies, which varied between 176 varieties of wheat, soybeans, raw sugar and various oils from 79 countries. Russia represented the largest country exporting to Egypt, followed by America, Brazil and Canada.
Alexandria Port came first in the number of food consignments received with a total of 685 consignments, followed by Cairo Airport Port, which ranked second with 292 consignments, then Port Said Port with a total of 277 consignments.

The General Administration for Special Food Registration and Licensing registered 22 products and 14 companies and carried out 4 monitoring visits. The administration also examined 450 new products and issued 11 free sale certificates.

The Strategic Commodities Administration carried out 10 inspection visits to wheat storage sites, 1 visit to rice mills, and 1 rice trading facility was registered in various governorates of the Republic.

The total number of complaints received to the Authority reached 128 complaints from the various complaints receiving agencies (the electronic portal for the unified government complaints system – the Council of Ministers), the Consumer Protection Agency, in addition to complaints submitted directly to the Authority. 83 complaints were closed and 45 complaints are being examined.

Complaints Department inspectors carried out campaigns on 766 food establishments to ensure the safety of food products offered in the governorates of Ismailia, Sharqia, Gharbia, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Aswan, Marsa Matrouh, Beheira, Assiut, Kafr El-Sheikh, Qalyubia, Red Sea, Port Said, Sohag, and Giza. , Shorouk and 10th of Ramadan cities, taking all necessary corrective measures in the event of any observations related to food safety requirements.
Regarding the activities of the Commercial Chain Control Department, 48 oversight missions were carried out on branches of commercial chain establishments to ensure that these establishments meet food safety requirements in a number of governorates of the Republic.

599 public store establishments with food activity were registered, and the Public Store Registration and Licensing Department conducted 459 inspections of public stores, while 324 establishments met the requirements of the National Food Safety Authority during the past week.

The Storage Facilities Control Department carried out 14 oversight missions over food stores in the governorates of Qalyubia, Minya, Alexandria, Assiut, Aswan, Red Sea, Sohag, Port Said, Suez and Giza, while 2 stores met the necessary requirements and were included in the approved list of the National Food Safety Authority.

With regard to school nutrition stores, 12 stores were inspected during the past week in the governorates of Assiut, Aswan, Minya, the Red Sea and Sohag, and with regard to the management of dairy suppliers, 10 oversight missions were carried out on milk parlors and milk collection centers in the governorates of Fayoum, Beheira, Alexandria, Kafr El-Sheikh, eastern and western.

With regard to the management of licensing and oversight of tourist facilities, 91 visits were made, including periodic oversight and inspection of licenses in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, the Red Sea, Aswan and Luxor.

The Mobile Food Units Department carried out 19 inspection missions on food units in the governorates of Cairo, Gharbia, Qalyubia, Qena and Giza. Three food units also met the requirements of the National Food Safety Authority and a temporary certificate was issued for them, in the governorates of Qalyubia, Qena and Dakahlia.
The Authority’s Grievances Committee examined 477 grievance requests received from various ports.

The General Administration of Slaughterhouses conducted 14 inspection visits to poultry and meat slaughterhouses and intestine factories, in addition to 62 follow-up visits to the manufacturing of natural animal packaging in intestine factories.

The administration issued 22 export permits for natural animal packaging to European Union countries after collecting samples and ensuring their compliance with requirements.
The slaughterhouse administration launched a campaign against some manual slaughterhouses in some neighborhoods of Qalyubia and Alexandria governorates in order to familiarize those in charge of them with food safety requirements.
The Department of Control of Food Contact Materials Factories carried out 8 oversight missions in the governorates of Giza, Menoufia, Qalyubia, Sharqia, and Assiut.
The General Administration for Fish and Aquatic Products Control carried out 18 monitoring visits to fishing boats/vessels, fish factories and suppliers, export companies, and processing units in various governorates of the Republic.

The Authority’s inspection campaigns on markets in various governorates:

As part of the efforts of the Authority’s branches to tighten and tighten control over food establishments, in implementation of the directives of Dr. Tariq Al-Hobi, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, to ensure the safety of the food products offered and to preserve the health of consumers in various governorates.

The Food Safety Branch in Gharbia Governorate implemented 28 extensive inspection campaigns on 233 food establishments to ensure the implementation of food safety requirements in the various cities and centers of the governorate (Tanta, Zefta, Qutour, Basyoun, Al-Santa, Kafr Al-Zayat, Al-Mahalla, Samanoud). These campaigns resulted in the arrest of… 22 thousand packages of expired sweets, 200 kg of cheese (unfit for human consumption), 250 kg of vinegar and sweets without data and of unknown source.

Within the framework of the awareness and educational role of the National Food Safety Authority to raise the level of public awareness towards improving food safety measures and promoting sound healthy food practices, 45 food establishments were visited and guidance was given to the necessity of adhering to food safety requirements in those establishments, and applying corrective measures.

We also participated in major campaigns with the governorate, the Supply Directorate, the Supply Investigation Department, the Veterinary Medicine Directorate, and the Health Directorate. These campaigns resulted in the issuance of 50 reports, which varied between reports of lack of health requirements, seizure and withdrawal of samples of a quantity of foodstuffs suspected of being fit for human consumption, estimated at an amount of 2 tons (fish, baked goods, meat). All seized items were seized to take legal measures.

Food was also inspected and examined at the General Security Administration, the Security Forces Administration, and the rehabilitation and correctional centers in the governorate.

The Food Safety Branch in Damietta Governorate carried out 6 joint inspection campaigns with (the Deputy Head of the Local Unit for the Center and the City, the Directorate of Supply, Veterinary Medicine, Health, and the Governorate) on 36 food facilities within the scope of the Center and City of Kafr Saad. These campaigns resulted in the destruction of 287 kilograms of various foodstuffs. It was expired and had changed natural properties. The execution process took place in the presence of representatives of the Food Safety Authority and members of the formed committee.

The Food Safety Branch in Dakahlia Governorate carried out 20 inspection campaigns, some of which were joint with other regulatory authorities (City Council Presidency, Health Directorate, Veterinary Medicine, Supply, Supply Investigations, Consumer Protection Agency), where 181 food facilities were visited in centers and some villages within the governorate ( Mansoura, Mit Ghamr, Minyat Al-Nasr, Tamy Al-Amdid, Nabaruh). These campaigns resulted in the destruction of a quantity of spoiled food and the seizure of 26 tons of food unfit for human consumption (pickles – flour – meat).

The Food Safety Branch in Beheira Governorate implemented 12 inspection campaigns on 109 food establishments in the governorate’s centers (Damanhour, Abu Homs, Kafr El Dawar, Housh Issa, Mahmoudiyah, and Noubaria). These campaigns resulted in monitoring a quantity of food packages of various types, expired and with variable properties. Natural, and the necessary measures were taken regarding these foodstuffs by Food Safety Authority inspectors.

The branch of the Food Safety Authority in Sohag Governorate implemented 5 joint inspection campaigns with the General Administration of Supply, Veterinary Medicine, Supply Investigations, Health Directorate, the Governorate and the Sharq District, where 44 food facilities were visited. These campaigns resulted in the destruction of a quantity of foodstuffs with variable natural properties. Not suitable for human consumption.

The branch also carried out 5 inspection campaigns on 14 food establishments within the (East and West neighborhoods) of the governorate. A quantity of food items unfit for human consumption was destroyed, and food establishments not registered with the authority were alerted to the need to register, complete licensing procedures, and implement requirements for food safety. .

The 10th of Ramadan branch carried out 4 inspection campaigns on 40 food establishments in the 10th of Ramadan City, Belbeis City, New Salhiya City and Abu Hammad City in Sharkia Governorate. These campaigns resulted in a deficiency in food safety requirements in those establishments and they were alerted and given a period to rectify their conditions and avoid… Violations.

The branch of the Food Safety Authority in Aswan Governorate implemented 13 extensive inspection campaigns in coordination with the Supply Investigations Department and the Supply Directorate, where 29 food establishments were visited. These campaigns resulted in the issuance of 3 records of possession of expired food supplies, and the seizure of 550 packages of various food supplies that were not fit for consumption. In addition, the owners of food establishments were educated about improving food safety measures, and pledges were taken to implement the necessary requirements and register with the National Food Safety Authority.

The Food Safety Branch in the Sharkia Governorate carried out 18 inspection campaigns, passing through 82 food facilities within the centers of (Zagazig, Deir Najm, Belbeis, Abu Hammad, Minya al-Qamh, Hahia and other centers), which resulted in the destruction of a quantity of expired and invalid food products. For human consumption.

23 food establishments that had previously been given a period to implement food safety requirements were re-visited, and the compliance of these establishments with the requirements that must be met by the food establishment was confirmed and verified.

The Food Safety Branch in Qalyubia Governorate carried out 7 inspection campaigns on 62 food facilities in the areas of (Banha, Toukh, Shebin El-Qanater, Qalyoub, and Qaha). The campaigns resulted in the destruction of a quantity of expired food products that showed signs of corruption, and this quantity was destroyed according to the rules. applicable.

Food Safety Branch in Menoufia Governorate

The Food Safety Branch in Menoufia Governorate implemented 11 inspection campaigns on 45 food establishments in some cities, centers and villages of the governorate (Shebin El-Kom, Berkat El-Sabaa, Quesna, Ashmoun, Menouf, El-Bajour, El-Shuhadaa, and Sadat). These campaigns resulted in the seizure of a quantity of various food products. Expired and unfit for human consumption, all of these products were destroyed in the presence of a committee of inspectors from the National Food Safety Authority.

The Food Safety Branch in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate implemented 7 inspection campaigns in cooperation with (the Consumer Protection Agency, Veterinary Medicine, Supply, Health, Environment, and the City Council), where 50 food facilities were visited. These campaigns resulted in the seizure of 2 tons and 765 kg of food products. Expired and of unknown origin.
